Visit
the Magnificent Cayos Cochinos Islands
Coyos
Cochinos is a popular day trip out of Roatan in the Bay Islands.
In a one hour
boat ride you reach a small group of islands nestled away in miles of
undisturbed coral reef. Pristine mountains rising from the sea, majestically
poised just beyond delicate sand cays. Scenes of unparalleled Caribbean
beauty.
We offer
sightseeing, snorkeling and diving trips or a combination of all.
When scuba diving we do our first dive 4 miles before Cayos Cochinos on one of 3 Sea Mounts. The mounts come to about 40 feet to
the surface and are the size of football fields. The mounts offer the
biggest schools of fish in the Bay Islands. The second dive is on Pelican
Point near Cochino Grande.
There are two options for lunch:
We can stop on a small key called Chachauate and
eat at a little restaurant on the beach and hang out with the local
Garifunas that live on this tiny island.
Or we stop at Plantation Beach Resort on Cochino Grande
and have lunch at their restaurant from where we can
take a
nature trail through the tropical rainforest to a lookout for spectacular
views of the rainforest and surrounding islands.
Private charter $ 700 with up to 5 people.
Additional people $ 50 per person extra. (8 passengers maximum)
Includes two dives or snorkeling and lunch, dive equipment not included.
The trip usually leaves out of our south
side location from Brick Bay Roatan with our excursion boat
Esperanza.
